Could We be in Purgatory and Not Know It?

Taken from a discussion post in Google +
For the sake of discussion:
pur·ga·to·ry
(in Roman Catholic doctrine) a place or state of suffering inhabited by the souls of sinners who are expiating their sins before going to heaven.
Could we presently be in this state? How would we know if we were or weren’t? Some profess to there not being a God, while others profess to many different religions with some having extreme feelings on how to get to heaven. Could many of us just be in a “stuck” position going from lifetime to lifetime unconsciously without progressing forward? We have some who are at very dark levels of society and some who seem to be at peaceful levels of life, could some be ready to push past while others would still need more time to find that way out?
If that is the case, are we all having a religious experience and just don’t know it?

Question:
Hey Kev, I want you to know something first of all that purgatory stuff does not exist, its not in the bible dear…if u die a sinner u go to hell.
Answer:
Correct – I think the term has been used by people who have gone through some sort of process that brings them an enlightenment of some type in their journey and they tried sharing that through the ages. If we try to apply that theory to this post, then if we currently are in purgatory, and all three divisions exist on this earth, then let’s play it out to see what happens. To apply this theory, we would have to accept that there are multiple consciousness levels within this plane which we can divide into higher consciousness and lower consciousness. Those who are in hell would be in lower consciousness (sin) while those in heaven would be in higher consciousness (what some would call Christ Consciousness). Then there is that inbetween part that could be considered purgatory because they are in God’s grace and not in the hellish part of the earth, but also haven’t moved into the heaven part which they would know if they were there. In a way, they could still go either way depending on what happens in their life until that “final judgment” gets here. In quantum physics, all energy vibrates at a certain level, including us since we are also energy at the basic level. So a person would resonate at an energy level of one of those particular levels.Final judgment therefore really isn’t someone condemning us to eternal hell, it is what we have achieved within our personal life or lives on where our personal resonance resides (example – birds of a feather – murderers hang out just as well as bankers and religious people within their own circles). So we all exist at one of these levels anyway whether we know it or not. This level of science just wasn’t recognized to put into words back then. So we could be in purgatory until our “light” (resonance) is at a level correspondent to heaven which would release us from the lower sin model. This might also mean that when Christ established his Kingdom, in order to get into it, everyone would have to have that resonance, therefore at permanent separation, those at the levels needed to enter the Kingdom would get there to live in that peaceful environment. Others will continue to live at the opposite extreme of duality not believing that it exists or possibly just not aware of the proper way of getting to their desired consciousness state due to misinformation or deceit of some type. Matthew 23:13

13 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites!
You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You
yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.”
(Since they have never truly been fully spiritually raised, they are teachers of lower consciousness only.)
